Talking sustainability and community on South of the River with Alli Harding: Podcast Sunday 7 April

Herbs, fruit and veggie swaps, recycling trailers, secondhand clothes stalls, cargo bike trials, and much more will be available at the inaugural Sandy Eco Expo on Saturday 11 May.

Alli Harding from South of the River was joined in the studio on Sunday 7 April by expo organisers Kate Stitfold and Simon Gaites. They are part of a team of hardworking volunteers organising the event, which aims to showcase the excellent work already being done in the bayside suburbs, as well as provide the opportunity for people to get involved, in the sustainability area.

The new event is the result of community groups @Village Zero Sandringham, Bayside Climate Crisis Action Group (BCCAG), 3191 BeachPatrol, and the Sandybeach Centre joining forces.

SEE will include information stands, workshops, waste-free coffee and food, music,  share/swap shop, one-day only collection of specific recyclables, and screening of The Clean Bin movie.

SEE will be held at the Sandy Beach Community Centre on 11 May from 12pm – 4pm.

Data collected on the day will provide valuable insights into the community’s appetite to divert waste from landfill and will assist in future planning of programs and events.

More information will be available in coming days at  https://www.facebook.com/sandyecoexpo/ or email Kate@nullvillagezero.com.au
