Alli Harding meets endurance athlete Elizabeth Dornom on South of the River – podcast now available
Bentleigh endurance athlete Elizabeth Dornom is a runner, swimmer, triathlete, and adventure racer – and now can add winner of the world’s most challenging race to her CV.
Elizabeth (above, with Alli) was part of the Australian team that last month took home the top prize in the One Water Race in Sweden. The swimrun event, which is in its second year, involved navigating, swimming and running more than 250km through the Stockholm archipelago.
They were the only team to finish the punishing race, which meant they collected an impressive US$100,000 in prize money.
Elizabeth is now preparing of her next event, the Adventure Racing World Championship 2023 in South Africa in October.
Alli also played some great tracks on South of the River, including a special song as a tribute to late footy greats Ron Barassi and Kevin Neale.
