Zoot was a pioneering Australian band & arguably the first consistent hard rock Oz band basing their style on a chunky riff sound. Starting out as a pop group who went on to score a number of chart hits, Zoot then radically altered their style which by this time included members: Darryl Cotton, Rick Springfield, Rick Brewer & Beeb Birtles. A supergroup in reverse as all members tasted lasting success after Zoot had disbanded in 1971. In 2011 Zoot reunited for one truly memorable concert, as tragically, lead singer Darryl Cotton was soon to succumb of liver cancer.
