Cindy Van Der Ree Live Sunday Session this week

It has been a bit of a wait for us to get our hands on an artist like Cindy Van Der Ree. The Live Sunday Sessions on 88.3 have encompassed Rock, Pop, Folk, Bluegrass, Country, Classical, Punk, Metal, Blues, Roots, Celtic as well as a couple of acts that that we dared not try classify but until now we have missed out on Jazz. That will change this Sunday when the beautiful voice of Cindy makes a special appearance at 4pm. She is more than purely a jazz performer, her music crosses various genres from acoustic folk to gospel as well as  jazz. Cindy’s vocal ability is compelling, emotive and her interpretation of any jazz standard is worth the listening! Her style is reflective of artists such as Eva Cassidy, Diana Krall, Danielle Gaha, Katie Melua, Sara Groves and Joni Mitchell. Most shows see Cindy singing her original songs as well as the old jazz favourites! Already under her belt are a couple of fine full release CD’S, “Scribe Me A Note” (2005) and “Some Kind Of Beautiful” (2010), showing that this lady has quickly and firmly established herself as a voice worth hearing.
